In the early 1970s chicanes were introduced to cut through the brutal straights. Making the famous deviations: Variantedel Rettifilo at the end of the start-finish plane and Variante Ascari.
Monza is the home ground of Scuderia Ferrari and the place where the support of passionate Italian fans Tifos reaches its peak.
It is know as the Temple of Speed, due to its long straights and extremely high speeds. Drivers spend about 80% of the lap at full throttle.
